Global Justice Post-2015: Registration now open for GJP Annual Conference

Registration is now open for the Yale Global Justice Program, Global Financial Integrity, and Academics Stand Against Poverty 2015 conference, entitled ‘Global Justice Post-2015’, on Friday October 30 to Thursday November 1. This conference will bring together academics, policy makers, and activists to discuss the critical global justice issues that are central to the work of the Global Justice Program: Illicit Financial Flows, Incentives for Global Health, the Oslo Principles on Global Climate Change Obligations, Measuring Poverty by the Individual Deprivation Measure, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Speakers include: Juan Pablo Bohoslavsky, the UN Independent Expert on Foreign Debt and Human Rights; Gail Hurley, UNDP Policy Specialist in Development Finance; Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University; and Thomas Pogge of Yale University. Amartya Sen will be attending in order to deliver the Amartya Sen Prize Award. For information about the other speakers and the topics covered in the seven panels, as well as a full program, please click here.

(Professor Sen sends his heartfelt apologies that due to unforeseen other commitments, he will not be able to present the award on this occasion. The award will be presented instead by Founder and President of Global Financial Integrity, Raymond Baker.)

Also associated with the conference is the Side Event to the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, entitled ‘Illicit Financial Flows, Human Rights and the Post-2015 Development Agenda’. This will be held on October 29 and more information can be found from the OHCHR website.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference. Please help us plan by registering your intention to attend: http://bit.ly/1KRMFib
