Aidan Hollis is Professor of Economics at the University of Calgary, and President of Incentives for Global Health. Hollis studied at Cambridge University and the University of Toronto, where he obtained a PhD in economics. His research focuses on innovation and competition in pharmaceutical markets, and he has published over fifty peer-reviewed articles and two books in a range of fields of economics. In 2003-4 he served as the T.D. MacDonald Chair in Industrial Economics at the Canadian Competition Bureau. He has provided expert reports and testimony in a variety of pharmaceutical-related cases in Federal, Appeals and Supreme Court cases in Canada, and has advised companies and governments. He served on the WHO Guideline Development Group on Antimicrobial Use in Food Animals and Expert Advisory Panel of the Global AMR R&D Hub. In recent years, he has made invited presentations at (among others) OECD, UNESCO, UN, World Bank, Harvard, Yale, Université Paris Descartes, and LSE.
