Darius Meier is a Swiss-Indian economist and ethicist with a research focus on human labor automation as part of his PhD at University of Lucerne (Institute of Social Ethics ISE) and Yale University. After his economics degree at the University of Lucerne, he graduated in 2018 with an interdisciplinary master’s degree in Religion-Economics-Politics from the Universities of Basel, Lucerne, and Zurich. During his studies, he completed academic exchanges in Mexico (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México), France (Université de Lille) and Slovenia (University of Ljubljana). Furthermore, he interned with different companies and organizations, among them BASF South-East Europe in Budapest, Hungary, and a governmental entity of the Canton of Zurich.

After his studies, Darius Meier joined PwC Advisory where he works in the fields of Cybersecurity and Automation besides his PhD pursuit. In recent years, he has published various articles on ethical opportunities and challenges in light of new technologies. Among others, he covered topics such as blockchain or the usage of artificial intelligence in social media.

As an experienced communicator versed in German, English, Hindi, French, Spanish, and Brazilian-Portuguese, he has been actively partaking in Swiss politics in the role of co-president of the commission for economic policy of the FDP Canton Zurich, board member of the FDP Zollikon and member of the foreign policy commission of FDP Switzerland.
