María Julia Ochoa Jiménez
María Julia Ochoa Jiménez is a professor of private international law. She graduated in law with a specialization in intellectual property from the University of Los Andes in Venezuela and holds a PhD in international law from the University of Göttingen. She has been a visiting researcher at the University of Bonn and at the Max Planck Institutes for Comparative and Private International Law and for Legal History and Legal Theory. She has been a professor at the University of Antioquia in Colombia, a position she currently holds at Loyola University in Spain. Her research interests focus on the fields of public and private international law and their links to cultural expressions, human rights, and indigenous rights. She is co-founder of the Venezuelan section of Academics Stand Against Poverty (ASAP).
