Matteo Frey

Matteo Frey is a research associate at the Institute of Social Ethics at the University of Lucerne, Switzerland. His research examines the normative foundations of service-ordered authority in international institutions under conditions of pluralism, with a current focus on political neutrality in the International Olympic Movement. More broadly, his work asks how institutions can serve plural communities without reproducing domination, especially where vulnerable and deprived communities are most affected. He holds an MA in Religion, Economics, and Politics and a BSc in Business Administration. He held a visiting research affiliation at Yale Divinity School and worked closely with the Leitner Chair in Philosophy and Political Science. He has professional experience in international NGOs and is a member of Justitia et Pax Switzerland.
