Pahlaj Moolio is a professor and dean for Research and Development Office at the LSi Business School, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Before joining LSI Business School, he served as an associate dean and professor at the Pannasastra University of Cambodia (2008-2020), as a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Visiting Professor at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany in 2019 https://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/eelp/daad.html.en, and as a visiting professor of quantitative economics at the University of Management and Economics, Battambang, Cambodia in 2007-2008.

After receiving his Ph.D. in mathematical economics from the University of Chittagong (Bangladesh), Pahlaj has focused his research and published on foreign development aid, foreign direct investment, monetary policy, and labor migration in terms of rural development, social welfare, and poverty eradication with an overarching interest in building social cohesion for sustainable and equitable development in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, and now in Cambodia.

He has served as a member of Minority’s Rights Commission of Bangladesh (1997-2002); a member of the Board of Directors of Santitham Education and Development Foundation in Thailand (2004-2008); and a member of Cambodian Mathematical Society (2010-2015). Currently, he is a founding member and co-chair of the Academics Stand Against Poverty (ASAP) Cambodian Chapter (2015 - till-today), and a member of the ASAP Global Board of Directors (2018 - till-today).
